Uschi starts her career as a biathlete at the age of 16. In 1992, she wins the silver medal with the relay team – at the premiere of the women’s competitions – at the Winter Olympics in Albertville. Over the years, she becomes world and Olympic champion several times and wins a total of 30 individual World Cup victories. In 2006, she ends her active biathlon career after a race at Holmenkollen in Oslo. From 2007 to 2009, Uschi works as a TV expert for the German broadcaster ARD. Today, she continues to be a brand ambassador for Viessmann.
