What's important to me: My brothers and I undertake an exciting project every year (Transalp with MTB 2020 from Garmisch to Riva).
While in elementary school, Philipp discovers biathlon for himself and starts training in his home town of Nesselwang. From 2001 to 2010 he shifts through a range of stations – from trial races to the DSV Student Cup and the German Cup, Philipp takes everything in stride. After graduating from school in 2011, he joins the German Armed Forces ski platoon in Mittenwald. Three years later he makes his international debut at the Junior World Cup in Presque Isle and wins gold with the relay team. After that, he races regularly as a starting competitor in the IBU Cup. In 2016/17 Philipp gets his first World Cup appearance in Kontiolahti. In 2020 he takes fourth in the individual World Cup on the Pokljuka and thus achieves his best place in a World Cup race to date. One season later, he wins his first World Cup race with the men's relay team, finishes second in the IBU Cup overall standings and is runner-up in the European Championships. Things continue to look up; in 2021/22 he is an integral part of the World Cup team, he qualifies for his first Olympic Games in Beijing and narrowly misses out on a medal there with the relay team.
