Hobbies: I love going to the mountains and enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. I also spend a lot of time with my friends, who I don’t see very often in winter. I really appreciate that we don’t only talk about sports when we get together.
Role model: When it comes to sports, definitely Eric Frenzel. I really admire how he always manages to deliver precise top performance. From a human point of view, he has stayed grounded despite his successes, and I can learn a number of things from him. Also Rafael Nadal. I admire his fierce determination and the energy he brings to every match.
Julian has been on cross-country skis since early childhood. At the age of seven, he was invited to take part in ski jumping trial training and has remained true to the combination ever since. In 2018, he won his first international medal at the Junior World Cup in Kandersteg – silver with the team. In 2017, he competed in the Continental Cup for the first time. At the 2019 Junior World Cup in Lahti, he won gold twice – in sprint and with the team. In the same season he made his World Cup debut. Since then Julian has competed in 24 individual World Cups.
