Particularly in these times, the health of my family and friends is the most important thing.

Career

Johannes first comes into contact with cross-country skiing through his parents at the age of ten. A short time later, after taking part in a trial training with Fritz Fischer in Ruhpolding, he switches to biathlon. After graduating from high school in 2010, Johannes joins the sports training group of the German Armed Forces in Bischofswiesen. One year later he switches to the Zoll Ski Team. In 2012 he makes his World Cup debut at Pokljuka and qualifies for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. In the following season, Johannes has a podium finish for the first time in the World Cup. In 2022 Johannes celebrates his first World Cup victory in the sprint of Hochfilzen and he participates again in the Olympic Games in Beijing.
