Career

At the young age of eight, David shows his talent for medium and long distance in track and field, and in the winter his endurance skills are trained on cross-country skis. He discovers his passion for the biathlon sport at the age of 11 during an introductory course. He continues to develop steadily, going through the junior squads of the German Ski Association and joining Bernhard Kröll’s training group in Mittenwald, where his role model Laura Dahlmeier also trained. In 2016 and 2017, David wins the bronze and silver twice at junior world championships. In the 2017/18 season, he competes in the IBU Cup and finishes ten times in the top 15. In the next year, the first IBU Cup victory follows. In 2021, David competes in the World Cup for the first time. Further appearances follow in the 2021/22 season as well as participation in the Olympic Games in Beijing.
